Meridian takes to the green for charity

As part of the Any Excuse for Golf Society’s (AEFGS) annual fundraiser for Acorns Children’s Hospice in Wythall, golfers from Meridian Private Client Solicitors Limited took to the green at Olton Golf Club on 24 May 2024 to help raise a total of £25,595.00 for the charity.

As one of the main sponsors of the event, in addition to fielding a team of golfers, volunteers from across the firm also stepped in to drum up additional funds by selling baked goods and refreshments throughout the day.

For the third year running, 22 teams played 18 holes of competitive and fun packed golf and were also challenged by golfing professional, Ady Wheatcroft, to demonstrate his unique technical tricks and his Beat the Pro challenge.  Ady, together with Mark Abrol, partner at Meridian and founder of the Any Excuse for Golf Society (AEFGS), have organised the community event for the past three years.

Mark said “I’m delighted with the outcome of the event. Bidding for exclusive auction items was hugely popular again and this, together with the sale of refreshments throughout the day, enabled us to raise vital funds for Acorns whilst promoting their important work more widely.  A huge thank to you our sponsors who this year were Meridian Private Client, Morgan and Company Solicitors, Henwood Court Financial Planning Limited, No5 Barristers’ Chambers and Probate Solicitors Limited (PSL). The generosity of Silhill Brewery and Mercia Distillery contributed hugely to a successful day. Olton Golf Club and the inhouse catering team also looked after us perfectly once again”.

Entries for the event next year, which will take place on 23 May 2025, are now open and interested parties can contact Mark directly. Places are already starting to disappear……….
