James Arney
James joined Meridian in November 2018 and has over five years’ experience in private client advisory work.
He works on a broad range of family wealth and succession planning matters within the team, which includes drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, trust advice and general estate and inheritance tax planning, James also deals with Grant of Representation and estate administration of varying complexity including those with cross-border elements.
James studied law at the University of Leeds, graduating in July 2015, before going on to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive in June 2021. He also qualified as a Notary Public in 2023.
His main interest outside of work is rugby, where he has previously represented the Borough, County and Midlands sides at age group level and is a previous club captain of his local club, Silhillians RUFC.
Since retiring from rugby, due to his extensive injury list, he has turned his attention to less strenuous activities, such as golf (in his words “poorly”) and walking his dog, Saxon.
